How to Apply for Financial Aid

The financial aid process is the same for campus students and for online students. Online students should consult the Financial Aid section of the college's website for the most up-to-date details.

When applying for financial aid, here are things you should keep in mind.

File the FAFSA, even when you think you will not be eligible for a Pell Grant. You will need it to obtain a loan.

  1. Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web.

    • Students can now download the application and/or apply online using their PIN.

    • If you have not received a PIN in the mail, you may go to www.pin.ed.gov to apply.

    • The FAFSA student Guide is also available online.

    • Welch College Institution Code is 030018

  2. File the FAFSA at the same time you file your tax return.
You will need information from your tax return to complete the FAFSA.
Full-time status is not a requirement for federal aid.

    • Note: If you anticipate not filing a tax return, contact the Financial Aid Office staff for instructions.

    • Students may also qualify for additional grants or scholarships. Students may also benefit from income tax credits. Welch College is also approved to use Veteran Benefits and Tuition Assistance.
