Annual Fund

A portion of the Welch College budget is underwritten each year by the annual fund. This fund, which helps reduce tuition and fees paid by students, includes gifts from alumni, friends of the college, and local churches.

Institutional Scholarships

These scholarships provide funds for children of pastors and high academic achievers. They also provide need-based and other essential scholarships. Institutional scholarships are funded by:

  • Ketteman Student Scholarship Drive (KSSD)

This event occurs the last Sunday in February. Churches and individuals are encouraged to give a special offering to the college for institutional scholarships. KSSD is an opportunity to invest in the lives of future leaders.

  • Call-a-Thon

The annual Call-a-Thon is held in February. Welch College students call friends of the college and ask for an extra, one-time, special offering.

  • Bowl 500

The original Bowl 500 participants were Welch College students, faculty, staff, and Nashville area alumni. Participants secure sponsors to raise funds. This event brings the college family together for fellowship, food, fundraising, and friendly competition. The college hopes to duplicate this event across the denomination with alumni and local church members. Contact the Advancement Office to host an event in your area: or 615-844-5245.

Northern Quarterly Rally

This fundraising event is unique to the Northern Quarterly of Tennessee’s Cumberland Association. Each February the Northern Quarterly churches and the college family come together for a worship service at Pleasant View Christian School. The service usually features a college ministry team. Churches bring special offerings and celebrate the grand total announced at the event. The College Choir, faculty, and staff are typically featured in morning services at Northern Quarterly churches. If you are interested in sponsoring a similar event in your area, contact the advancement office at or call 615-844-5245.
